Tabnine Ltd. ( "Tabnine" , "we" ) is committed to maintaining the privacy of its users ("user" "you"). The following information describes how Tabnine collects and processes information about you when you use our website (the "Website") and Platform (as defined below).

  • How we use that information.

General

Tabnine develops and provides an AI code assistant solution platform ("Platform"), that generates dependable code completion capabilities to its users. Tabnine’s technology implements machine-learning algorithms over code and allows its users to discover practices that form the de-facto coding standards ("Services"). The Services are provided to individuals and enterprises ("Business Partners") via two kinds of models: (1) public models trained on reputable public source code with permissive licenses, and (2) private models trained on the user's code. The Website provides information on Tabnine, its Platform and Services and enables users to contact Tabnine in relation to its Services.

Collecting Information

Please note that the scope of this Privacy Policy is limited only to information collected by Tabnine through your use of its Website and Platform. Some information may be automatically collected, and some is collected when you interact with our Website and Platform. The type of information that may be automatically collected is non-personal information, which includes your session durations, the content you accessed on the Website and Platform, the frequency and scope of your use of the Website and Platform and information about your computer and internet connection including the operating system you use and browser type.

Information from which you can be personally identified may also be collected, including but not limited to your email address, applicable username, company, resume, LinkedIn profile URL, phone number, job title, details you choose to share when requesting a demo and the location of the computer through which you used the Website and Platform (hereinafter: "Personal Information"). Personal Information shall be collected only if received voluntarily from you, including, without limitation, via the following ways:

  2. If you wish to sign up to use the Platform, and/or log in via the Website, we will collect your Personal Information such as your full name and email address. We will explicitly indicate the mandatory fields for completion to enable you to use the Platform and Services.

If you wish to sign up or log in to your account to use the Platform via the Website, we may also use a Single Sign-On account ("SSO" such as Google, Microsoft, GitHub or other available SSO services. Signing in via the SSO will provide us with access to information these SSO services obtain about you, and all in accordance with your specific SSO’s privacy settings.

  5. Contacting Us:
  6. If you wish to contact us for support regarding our Platform, Services, Website, this Privacy Policy or any other matter, we will collect your email address and the content you submitted to facilitate your inquiry.

  7. Information you Submit when adding a "Team Member":
  8. If you wish to add a Team Member to the Platform, we will collect the email you submit, and will contact them for the provision of the Services to them. You represent that you have all the necessary rights to provide such Team Member’s information to us, and in case required, applicable consents to enable us to contact such Team Member for the provision of the Service to them.

  9. Information Collected from our Business Partners :

In case you are our Business Partner who provides us with the required information of its personnel or other relevant individuals who you wish to be provided with an authorization to use the Platform and Services, you represent that you have all the necessary rights to provide such Personal Information to us, and in case required applicable consents for the provision of the Service to them.

  11. Downloading Materials:
  12. If you wish to download certain professional and promotional materials provided over our Platform ("Materials"), we may monitor and collect data concerning your usage of the Materials, such as the number of pages you have read and how long you spend reading the Materials.

  13. Information Collected via Targeted Advertisement Practices:
  14. Tabnine uses various advertising practices in cooperation with third party services and products. We use certain data about you in order to improve our advertising practices and make the ads we deliver more effective, relevant and enjoyable, including by deploying interest-based advertising, as well as targeting and ad measurement and attribution systems.

    Such data includes your computer advertising identifiers (e.g. IDFA or Advertising ID), to the extent available), data related to your connected Google, Microsoft or GitHub account (if any, such as your gender, region or country), and other demographic and interests-based information that we or our partners may have received from or about you.

    The ads we or our partners deliver may be shown within our Platform and Website or through other channels, such as third party websites and applications. If you wish to prevent the use of your computer’s advertising ID or other identifiers for interest-based advertising, you may change your computer settings to reset such advertising ID or opt out of such advertising (typically, this is available under the "Privacy"or "Ads"section in your Device settings).

    Please note that if you reset your advertising ID or opt out of interest based advertising, you may still see advertisements on our Platform and Website, or on any other channels, but those ads will not be targeted based on the above mentioned identifiers.

  15. Subscribing to our Newsletter:
  16. If you wish to register to our newsletter and be provided with information on the Services and special promotions, we will collect your email address and will send you the required materials.

  17. Careers:
  18. We will collect your Personal Information when you wish to apply to a job at Tabnine. Such information includes your full name, phone number, email address, resume, LinkedIn profile URL and other related information.

  19. Request a Demo:
  20. If you wish to request a demo via the Website, we will collect your full name, email address, company name, job title, and the content you submitted to provide you with a relevant demo to use our Services.

Use of Information:

We use Personal Information we collect from you for a range of different business purposes according to different legal bases of processing. We may use or process your Personal Information for the following purposes. One or more purposes may apply simultaneously.

  1. Providing the Requested Services
    • We collect Personal Information listed in Sections a-j above, to provide you with the Services you contracted to receive.

    • Such collection of information will enable us to provide you with technical and professional assistance, with regard to the Services you use or intend to use.

    We process the Personal Information where it is necessary for the adequate performance of the contract regarding the provision of the Platform and requested Services.

  2. Improvement and Development of the Services
    • We collect Personal Information listed under Section f to improve and develop our Platform and Services and understand feedback on Tabnine’s Services and Platform and to help provide more information on the use of the Platform and Services quickly and easily.

    • We collect Personal Information for ongoing review and improvement of the information provided on our Website and Platform to ensure it is user friendly.

    • We collect Personal Information to improve the management and administration of our business and maintain compliancy with our internal policies and procedures.

    • We conduct surveys and research, test features in development, and analyze the information we have to evaluate and improve our Services, develop new features, and conduct audits and troubleshooting activities.

    We process this information in light of our legitimate interest in improving the Services, to allow our users to have the best experience.

  3. Maintain a Safe and Secure Environment

    • If you have used Tabnine’s Services in the past, we have a legitimate business interest for matching the data we collect with other data we had already collected.

    • This also enables us to improve your experience on the Website and Platform by providing you with personalized content, recommendations, and features.

    We process this information in light of our legitimate interest to personalize your experience and customize our content.

Disclosure of Information and Transfer of Data

We reasonably attempt to ensure that we never intentionally disclose any of your Personal Information, to any third party without having received your permission, except as provided for herein and in this Privacy Policy or otherwise as permitted or required under law.

In order to perform our contractual and other legal responsibilities or purposes, we may, from time to time, need to share your Personal Information with third parties. We may as well share your Personal Information with our affiliates, subsidiaries (such as Tabnine inc.) or any third party service providers and individuals to facilitate our Services or any portion thereof, such as marketing, data management or maintenance services. We share your Personal Information with third party payment processors who assure that your payment information is processed in accordance with the highest data security standard. We may also share your information with analytics service providers for analytics services. Such analytics service providers set their own cookies or other identifiers on your computer, through which they can collect information about your usage of our Platform and Website. This helps us compile aggregated statistics about the effectiveness of our Platform, Website and Services.

The above mentioned third parties may be located in countries other than your own, and we may send them information we receive. When such third party service providers process your Personal Information on our behalf, we will assure that they comply with obligations similar to those which are set forth in this Privacy Policy. We will also assure that they will abide by our data privacy and security requirements, and will be allowed to use the Personal Information solely for the purposes we set. We will also release specific information in special cases, such as if you use the Website and/or Services to perform an unlawful act or omission or take any act or omission that may damage Tabnine, its property and goodwill, or if there is an attempted breach of the security of the Website and/or Platform or a physical or property threat to you or others. The authority supervising such activities is the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority, and you have the right to file a complaint to it or any other relevant supervisory authority.

Roles and Responsibilities

Please note that certain data protection laws and regulations, such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA (as defined below) typically distinguish between two main roles for parties processing Personal Information: the "Data Controller" (or under the CCPA/CPRA, "Business"), who determines the purposes and means of processing; and the "Data Processor"(or under the CCPA/CPRA, "Service Provider"), who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller (or Business). Please see the below explanation where we elaborate on how these roles apply to our Services, to the extent that such laws and regulations apply.

If you utilize the Services on your own behalf and for your own purposes, Tabnine is considered the "Data Controller"of your Personal Information and will process such Personal Information for the provision of the Website and Services to you. With respect to such Personal Information, we assume the responsibilities of the Data Controller (solely to the extent applicable under the law), as set forth in this Privacy Policy. In such instances, our service providers processing such data will assume the role of "Data Processors"

If you utilize the Services on behalf of an organization you are associated with, as such organization is considered Tabnine’s Business Partner, Tabnine is considered the "Data Processor"of your Personal Information and processes the Personal Information on behalf of its Business Partner (who is the "Data Controller"of such Personal Information). Our service providers who process such user Personal Information on our behalf are the "Sub-processors"of such Personal Information.

For the avoidance of doubt, and as mentioned above, each Business Partner is solely responsible for providing adequate notice to the its authorized Platform users whose Personal Information may be processed by Tabnine for the provision of the Services. This includes, to the extent required, sufficient reference to the processing of their Personal Information via the Platform, and any other information necessary to comply with all applicable privacy and data protection laws and obtaining all approvals and consents from individuals as required under the applicable laws.
